Error Code 8-701 or 8-702
Error 8-701
A recent update to the Sling app on Apple devices may cause you to see error code 8-701 or 17-753. If you’re seeing this error code, it’s because your device hasn’t yet installed the update.
Most Apple devices can be set to update apps automatically, however, you may need to manually install this update in order to keep watching.
Choose your device from below for instructions on updating the Sling app:
iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
Launch the App Store, then tap Today on the bottom of the screen
Tap the profile icon at the top of the screen
Scroll down to see pending updates; tap Update next to the Sling app
Apple TV
Launch the App Store, then scroll over and select Purchased
On the left side of the screen, highlight All Apps, then scroll down and select Sling TV
If an update is available, an Update button will be available on the app info screen
In some cases, you may receive an 8-701 error when watching a specific show or channel. In most cases, this means the programming you were viewing was on a free preview, and that preview is no longer available. Double-check our available free previews to check if the content you were viewing is still available:
Additionally, we've received reports of customers experiencing this error on devices other than Apple. If you receive error 8-701 on a non-Apple device, follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

If you’re unable to resolve the error using the other steps listed above, please take note of the following information before contacting us:
When the error occurred (when selecting a show, in the middle of watching, etc.)
What type of program you were watching (live, on-demand, DVR recording)
What device you were using (browser, mobile app, streaming device)
