NFL Week 2: Field Yates Previews Packers-Lions
We spoke to ESPN's NFL Insider Field Yates to get his thoughts on the Packers-Lions game and other predictions for the season.
Aaron Rogers would likely tell them to R-E-L-A-X, but after getting clobbered by the Saints in Week 1, Packers fans probably need R-O-L-A-I-D-S.

After dropping their season opener on the road, the Green Bay Packers return to the friendly confines of Lambeau Field to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. If the Packers loss was disheartening (or pro-heartburning), the Lions' loss to the San Francisco 49ers was something of a moral victory. After falling behind 41-17 early in the fourth quarter, Detroit was able to close to within a score before time ran out.
With all four NFC North teams losing in Week 1, could Detroit pull off the MNF upset and grab an early lead in the division? Don’t count on it, says ESPN's NFL Insider Field Yates.
“I know it’s a big number [currently Lions +11.5 on DraftKings], but I just can’t see a scenario in which Aaron Rogers and the Packers don’t win and cover on Monday Night Football on ESPN,” he told us on Wednesday. “They’ll be playing angry, they have an extra day to prepare against the Detroit Lions. Give me Aaron Rogers and the Packers to score a huge Week 2 win.”
The Packers aren’t the only Week 1 loser that desperately needs a rebound. After a shocking home loss to the Steelers, the Bills will look to bounce back against the Dolphins. The Browns lost a tough one to the Chiefs; they’ll look for revenge when they take on a surprisingly dominant Texans team in their home opener. And after a brutal OT defeat to the Raiders in the MNF season premiere, Baltimore will have their hands full as they face Kansas City on Sunday Night Football.
