New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Thursday, Nov. 28, 4:30pm ET - FOX (Sling Blue in Select Markets)

These are dark days for Giants fans and players. In week 12, they were absolutely hammered by the sub-.500 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, losing 30-7 at home. QB Daniel Jones, who just last year signed a contract worth $160 million, was released by the team last week. Rookie WR Malik Nabers, who had such a promising start to the season, called their effort against the Bucs “soft as [fudge].” The only bright side to this season is the prospect of the top pick in next year’s draft, and the Raiders and Jaguars might not even let them have that pyrrhic victory.

Things haven’t been going much better for the Dallas Cowboys, their Thanksgiving opponent. But at least Dallas is coming off of an absolutely wild divisional victory over the Commanders. As ESPN notes, “in the last 2 minutes, 49 seconds, there was a 99-yard kick return for a touchdown, an 86-yard touchdown pass, a missed extra-point attempt that would have tied the score, an onside kick returned for another score and a Hail Mary pass that was intercepted at the 5-yard line to clinch Dallas' 34-26 victory.” Dallas could certainly use that momentum to fuel them, but they might not even need it with the way the Giants are playing.

Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers

Thursday, Nov. 28, 8:20pm ET - NBC

Don’t look now, but the Dolphins are just one spot out of the final AFC wild card spot. Miami is on a three-game winning streak and their offense is beginning to resemble the unit that led the NFL in scoring last season. But cold weather games are traditionally where Miami has struggled, and they’re almost certain to be playing in one on Thanksgiving night in Green Bay. Coming off a dominant win against NFC rivals the San Francisco 49ers, the 8-3 Packers look like a playoff contender and have games remaining against other NFC North playoff teams, Detroit and Minnesota. But if the Dolphins can somehow scratch out a win on the legendary frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, it would be the type of confidence-boosting, late-season win that has eluded them in recent years.
