The 2026 college football season marks a new beginning for the Mountain West conference. Five schools – Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Utah State – bolted for the newly reconfigured Pac-12 conference (more on that below). Following a two year stint in college sports purgatory, the Pac-12 has reemerged ahead of the 2026 season.
