MeTV Launches on Sling with Your Classic TV Favorites
The newest channel on Sling, MeTV has some of the greatest shows of all-time, from classic sitcoms to westerns, courtroom dramas to timeless sci-fi.
With all due respect to fuzzy blankets and warm drinks on cold days, there are few things more comforting than revisiting the classic entertainment we grew up on. If you’re in need of a potent dose of nostalgia, MeTV, which is now available to all Sling Orange, Blue or Select subscribers, is the channel for you. Featuring a ton of series from the Golden and Silver Age of television – roughly the ‘50s through the mid-’80s – MeTV features all of your back-in-the-day favorites on a 7-day schedule that won’t change week-to-week. Here’s a closer look at the newest member of the Sling channel lineup. To try MeTV and the other channels part of our all new Sling Select package, use the link below.
What are the Top Shows on MeTV?
https://youtu.be/yaKpbaWR2pI?si=lmVaZTDCwSbbx0Mh
Top shows is a subjective term here, because, like the best oldies stations, MeTV features nothing but hits. If you’re a fan of classic comedy, MeTV has four straight episodes of M*A*S*H every weeknight beginning at 6pm ET. The rest of the weeknight primetime lineup includes The Andy Griffith Show (back-to-back), The Beverley Hillbillies, The Honeymooners, and two-straight Hogan’s Heroes episodes at 10pm ET.
If you’re a fan of courtroom procedurals and legal dramas, you can catch a three-hour block of Perry Mason, Matlock, and In the Heat of the Night weekdays beginning at 9am. And your favorite westerns run during midday, with Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Riffleman, and Wagon Train airing from 1-5pm every weekday.
Remember Saturday morning cartoons? MeTV has Saturday morning cartoons, including Popeye (7am ET), Tom and Jerry (7:30 ET), Woody Woodpecker (8am), and Bugs Bunny (9am). Miss timeless ‘60s sci-fi? The Twilight Zone is on every weeknight at 11pm ET, along with the original Star Trek on Saturdays at the same time. Sundays feature an all-day marathon of some of the greatest sitcoms of all-time, including a four-episode block of All in the Family at 8pm ET and The Dick Van Dyke Show at 11pm ET. If all this isn’t enough you can spend your Saturday night revisiting campy horror and sci-fi films with the Svengoolie, beginning at 8pm ET.
We haven’t even mentioned all-time shows like The Carol Burnett Show, The Three Stooges, Mission Impossible, Batman, and Dragnet. If you’re a fan of classic television, MeTV has an embarrassment of riches, and with your 50 hours of Free Cloud DVR, you can record all of your favorites no matter what time they air.
