The NFL calendar has flipped to Week 14 and we still haven't seen a game cancelled (for better or worse). As we enter the fourth quarter of the NFL season, it’s a special time of the year for a certain stripe of football fan. That’s right: The Fantasy Football Playoffs are here!
As we all know, this has been a brutal year for injuries to star players, to say nothing of the assorted COVID outbreaks that have kept many others off the field for a game or two. So if you even made it to the fantasy playoffs, consider yourself something of a winner, at least against the waiver wire. But it requires more to be a champion.
In all likelihood, it requires at least one member of our of Fantasy Football All-Stars. Similar to the All-Pro Team, this elite squad of hypothetical teammates equals a full Fantasy roster (because we might as well flex, we threw in a flex position). If you’re lucky enough to have one at least one of these players on your team, you’re in solid position as the playoffs begin. If you have two or more, odds are in your favor to win whatever ridiculous name your league calls its fantasy football trophy.
Check out our Fantasy Football All-Star team below. First though, here’s a look at the full Week 14 schedule, we’ll update this post if any games are moved or postponed.

QB - Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Russell Wilson may have been the sentimental choice for MVP halfway through the season, but it’s now Patrick “Don’t-Call-Him-Pat” Mahomes’ award to lose. He’s leading the NFL in passing yards (3,815), passing yards per game (317.9) and QBR (85.8), while throwing for 31 TDs against just two picks. The NFL is flush with talented young quarterbacks, and Mahomes stands out as the best of the bunch.
RB1 - Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans; RB2 - Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings
With Ezekiel Elliot unable to carry the burden since Dak Prescot’s injury and Nick Chubb in-and-out of the lineup for the Browns, Derrick Henry and Dalvin Cook are clearly the two best pure running backs in the league. Henry is currently leading the NFL in rushing yards (1,317) and is pacing for a career-high in yards to go with what would be his second-straight rushing title. Cook has been nicked up at times but he’s leading the NFL in yards per game (113.6) and has scored more points (90) than any non-kicker in the league.
WR1 - Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers; WR2 - DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks
It’s quite a bit harder to pick the best receivers in the game, as—unlike last season, when the Saints’ Michael Thomas set several individual records—any number of pass-catchers could lay claim to the best in 2020. The two that stand out to me are Davante Adams, who leads all receivers in yards per game (102.9) and touchdowns (13), despite missing two games with injury; and DK Metcalf, a big-play beast who has the most receiving yards (1,119) despite ranking just 20th in catches.
TE - Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is putting up numbers that are better than almost any receiver in the league outside of the two mentioned above. His 1,114 yards are just five fewer than Metcalf’s, he’s hauled in 82 receptions (5th), and his 92.8 yards per game are third overall. Kansas City is absolutely loaded with offensive weapons but outside of Mahomes, it’s hard to think of any piece more important than Kelce.
Flex - Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
Even though Kamara’s numbers have plummeted since Drew Brees was injured, he remains the most balanced run-catch threat in the NFL. His 1,372 total yards rank third overall and his stat-line is impressively symmetrical: 673 on the ground (9 TDs, 4.7 ypr) and 655 through the air (70 rec, 4 TDs, 9.4 ypc). It’s still not clear if Brees will be back in the lineup this weekend against the Eagles, but whenever he returns, expect the offense to return to running mostly through Kamara.
K - Younghoe Koo, Atlanta Falcons
It’s been a very bumpy season for the Falcons, who have stabilized after a brutal 0-5 start that saw them blowing leads in such dramatic fashion, their coach got fired. Regardless of their struggles, kicker Younghoe Koo has been steady in what’s been a down year for kickers across the league; he leads the NFL in total points (119) and made field goals (32).
DEF - New Orleans Saints
This one is pretty much a toss-up with the Pittsburgh Steelers D, a unit that has been a big part of why the Steelers are off to their best start in franchise history. New Orleans gets the nod due to strength of schedule and their steady improvement. After opening the season 1-2, the Saints have won nine straight, including the last three without Brees. The defense has been the anchor; they’re surrendering just 8.8 points per game and 55.8 rushing yards over the past five weeks. They also rank in the top five in passing, rushing, scoring, and turnovers, and their 288.8 yards per game are the best in the league. The implications of next weekend’s game against the Chiefs extend well beyond fantasy football or playoff positioning; it’s a possible Super Bowl preview between the two best teams of 2020.
