How To Watch Boston Celtics Playoff Games With Sling
The Boston Celtics are back in the playoffs for the 10th straight year. Here's how to watch all of their playoff games with Sling.
The Boston Celtics may wear green jerseys, but there’s nothing green about the team itself. With a ten year playoff streak, including five seasons in which they advanced to at least the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston is one of the most experienced and consistent teams in the NBA.
For the second year in a row, Boston finished with the NBA’s best regular season record, giving them home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Is this the year the Celtics finally break through to win the team’s record-setting 18th world championship? Only time will tell, but here’s how you can watch all the Boston Celtics 2024 playoff games with Sling.

Celtics Playoff Schedule
In the first round, the Celtics eliminated their longtime rival the Miami Heat, 4-1. Their victory was a bit of revenge against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year. In the Eastern Conference Semifinal, they faced the No. 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers, and won the series in five games. In the Eastern Conference Final, the Celtics swept the Indiana Pacers, which means they've only lost two games the entire postseason, and are undefeated in road games. With a ton of momentum, they'll face the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, which begin Thursday, June 6. Here's the full Finals schedule:
#1 Boston Celtics vs. #5 Dallas Mavericks
- Game 1: Mavericks at Celtics, Thursday, June 6 (8:30 ET)
- Game 2: Mavericks at Celtics, Sunday, June 9 (8 ET)

After their surprising loss to the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference Final, Boston was one of the busiest teams in free agency. Following the NBA Finals, the Celtics traded guard Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team trade that landed them one of the most unique players in the league, 7’2” Kristaps Porziņģis from the Washington Wizards. Then, less than a month before the season began, the Celtics acquired two-time all-star Jrue Holiday as part of the trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks. Following those transactions, here’s what Boston’s starting five looks like:
Jrue Holiday - Point Guard
Derrick White - Shooting Guard
Jaylen Brown - Small Forward
Jayson Tatum - Power Forward
Kristaps Porziņģis - Center
Boston’s second unit is as follows:
Payton Pritchard - Point Guard
Sam Hauser - Small Forward
Al Horford - Power Forward/ Center
Since the injury to Porziņģis in the First Round, Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman have also been logging minutes.
Who Coaches the Celtics?
Although head coaching changes are a regular occurrence in the NBA (some might say too regular), the Celtics have had an unusual amount of turnover at the position in recent years. The reasons for those changes are equally unusual. First, former head coach Brad Stevens stepped aside following the 2021 season to take a position in the front office (it’s worked out well, as Stevens was recently named Executive of the Year). Ime Udoka took over and led the team back to the NBA Finals. But prior to the 2022-23 season, Udoka was suspended from the team due to an inappropriate relationship with a female staffer. Joe Mazzulla was named interim head coach, a role he was promoted to permanently after leading the Celts to the league’s best record before the All-Star break.
Here’s a full look at the Celtics’ current coaching staff:
Head coach - Joe Mazzulla
Assistant coach(es)
- Sam Cassell
- Anthony Dobbins
- Amile Jefferson
- Charles Lee
- DJ MacLeay
- Matt Reynolds
Where Do the Boston Celtics Play?
The Celtics play their home games at the TD Garden, which is also home to the Boston Bruins. The arena opened in 1995 and holds just over 19,000 fans during basketball games. The TD Garden website says that the arena “hosts over 3.5 million people per year.”
When Was the Boston Celtics’ Last Championship?
The Celtics’ most recent championship came in the 2007-08 season, when Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett led the team past Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. Overall, the Celtics have won 17 championships (tied with the Lakers for the most in the NBA), including eight consecutive titles from 1959-1966, and three more with Larry Bird from 1981 to 1986.
