As they always do in the College Football Playoff National Championship, ESPN has saved the best for last.
Monday’s game between #1 Alabama and #3 Ohio State (8pm ET) for the CFP Championship will be getting the Megacast treatment, similar to what the network is using for its coverage of the Ravens-Titans Wild Card game on Sunday. Between the ESPN family of networks and their app, the Worldwide Leader is offering 14 different presentations of the game. Sling Orange subscribers will have access to at least two of them, with Sports Extra subscribers getting a host more. Here’s your guide on how (and what) to watch on Sling.
ESPN & ESPN2
Announcer Chris Fowler and play-by-play analyst Kirk Herbstreit will finish off their 25th season together in the booth as they call their seventh straight championship game. Reporters Maria Taylor (Alabama) and Holly Rowe (Ohio State) will work the sidelines and former Big Ten referee Bill Lemonnier will serve as rules analyst.
ESPN2 will try something new this year, with the NFL Live team of Laura Rutledge, Marcus Spears, Dan Orlovsky and Mina Kimes—along with NFL Draft expert Todd McShay—bringing their strong chemistry to a simulcast ESPN is calling CFP Live.
More Coverage
If that weren’t enough, Sports Extra subscribers can catch the action on three additional channels. Film Room has been popular with Megacast audiences in the past, and this year, subject to change, championship-winning coach Gene Chizik, Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson, Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze and North Carolina A&T’s Sam Washington are scheduled to break down the tactics and strategy in real-time. You can catch the action and analysis on ESPNEWS.
SkyCast–which features a dedicated SkyCam view of most plays–will be available on ESPNU, with Jason Fitz and Mike Golic Jr. “providing commentary and context out of commercial breaks before throwing back to the sounds of the game,” according to ESPN. And if you’re a ‘Bama fan, you can hear the local broadcast team of Eli Gold, John Parker Wilson, Rashad Johnson and Chris Stewart over on the SEC Network.
Spanish broadcast and more
That’s not even everything. Si puedes entender esto, considera ver la transmisión en español en ESPN Deportes. If you’re craving even more coverage, you can download the ESPN app for multiple camera angles with Command Center, get real-time stats and social media reactions with DataCenter and even hear what former refs (and the always-entertaining Herm Edwards) think of the game with Refcast.
Much like every square inch of Hard Rock Stadium itself, ESPN has the game covered every which way. To get the most coverage of the College Football National Championship game on Sling, sign up for Sling with Sports Extra using the button below.
