Spoilers for Season 1 of Snowpiercer follow:
Season 1 of the hit TNT post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer saw the fragile society aboard the titular 1,001-car train going off the rails. Season 2 is about getting it back on track.
The new season—which features a bigger cast, a new train, and plenty of eerily prescient allegories about leadership and maintaining the social order—premieres tonight at 9pm ET. In addition to Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) as Mr. Wilford, the pot-smoking industrialist whose 40-car supply train Big Alice attached itself to Snowpiercer in the Season 1 finale, Rowan Blanchard joins the cast as Alexandra Cavill, the presumed-dead daughter of Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly), Snowpiercer’s disgraced former Head of Hospitality and engineer.
Ahead of the second season premiere, Sling was able to chat with both Conelly and Blanchard about their characters, working together, and their difficult relationship with Mr. Wilford. Season 2 of Snowpiercer premieres tonight, Jan. 25, at 9pm ET on TNT.
