If The Bachelor has you feeling like a bridesmaid dumped at the altar, take a trip to Temptation Island. The third season of USA Network’s reality romance hit premieres Tuesday, Feb. 16, and it once again finds four couples who are contemplating the future of their relationship mingling with a group of attractive singles who are angling for their own shot at love. Although the show certainly offers up plenty of drama and backstabbing, it’s deeper than one might expect; as we noted in our season 2 preview, Temptation Island also provides “a fascinating window into the psychology of long-term dating, people’s expectations of one another, and their efforts to manipulate each other into fulfilling those expectations.”
Before the new episodes get underway, here’s a look at the couples and singles that will tempt fate on this season of Temptation Island. To watch the show live and on demand with USA Network, sign up for Sling Blue using the link at the bottom of this page.
The Couples
Chelsea and Thomas have been dating for a year, but they set sail to Temptation Island to work through his “flirtatious nature” and her “jealousy and possessiveness.” An island full of thirsty singles is just the thing they’ll need to resolve their issues, no doubt.
Although they’ve been dating for two-and-a-half years, Kendal is still unsure if Erica is the right woman for him, causing her to feel underappreciated. When they get to Temptation Island, will he finally realize that the sand may not be softer on the other side of the beach?
Erin and Corey have the opposite problem: She’s a confident, competitive former soccer pro, leaving Corey to feel that he always comes up short compared to her exes. He clearly wants to make things work, but will Erin find a true alpha among the singles trying to win her heart?
Finally, we have Kristen and Julian, high school sweethearts who have been together for 11 years. A personal trainer, Julian’s past infidelities have created uncertainty about their future, but are they hesitant to take the next step because of his mistakes or because, deep down, they suspect they might not be right for each other?
The Singles
As soon as they’re introduced, it’s clear that this group of hot young singles have the swagger and confidence to swoop in and steal the fragile hearts of the newly seperated. Some cast members were clearly selected in part due to similar interests among the couples, including:
Katrina Koomen, a 22-year-old model and collegiate soccer player.
Dr. Blake Eyers, an adventure-loving dentist.
Lauryn Stewart, a recent divorcee and personal trainer.
Griffin Libhart, a retired professional soccer player.
Sohpia Perez, a makeup artist and self-described “life of the party.”
David Silvia, a veteran of the Miami party scene who’s finally ready to settle down.
Lauren “Tula” Poindexter, a former Miss Louisiana who is rebounding from a failed engagement.
Shaquille Urie, a personal trainer and former football player.
Will one or more of these singles find true love by breaking up one of the couples? If past seasons are any indication, the answer is probably yes but we’ll have to wait and see.
New episodes of Temptation Island air Tuesdays at 10pm ET on USA Network. Use the link below to start watching now with Sling Blue.
