Along with all other large live events, it appeared that IDCON — the annual convention centered around the personalities and programming featured on Investigation Discovery — was going to be canceled this year. But IDCON is back on, and lucky for those of us who don’t live in the New York area, we no longer have to head out of town to attend.
ID’s signature event is going virtual this year, so anyone with a computer and an internet connection already has a ticket to get in. Beginning this Thursday, May 21 at 6pm ET, the online event will feature panel discussions, Q&As, and other presentations, all of which you can enjoy from the comfort of the couch.

Curious Crimes
Let’s not beat around the bush: The “suicide” of accused child sex trafficker and well-connected socialite Jeffrey Epstein is highly suspicious. But even though the official record raises a number of troubling questions about his death, it’s not at all clear who might have been behind it, or why. At IDCON, crime journalist Diane Dimond, legal analyst Ashleigh Banfield, and psychotherapist Dr. Robi Ludwig will dig into the details of his demise, and look ahead to the upcoming ID special Who Killed Jeffrey Epistein?, which premieres Sunday, May 31.
Justice For All?
The machinery of America’s criminal justice system is extremely complex, so much so that many of us feel overwhelmed by it, no matter how many hours of ID programming we’ve consumed. At IDCON, 48 Hours correspondent Maureen Maher will lead a panel of three criminal justices experts — True Conviction host and former New York prosecutor Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi, along with retired homicide detective Chris Anderson and criminal defense attorney Fatima Silva, the co-hosts of Reasonable Doubt — for what’s sure to be an enlightening discussion about a seemingly impenetrable topic.
What Do You Know, Joe?
The programming on Investigation Discovery isn’t really personality-driven, but if there was a star of the network, it would probably be former Homicide Hunter host Lt. Joe Kenda. A retired Colorado Springs detective who solved over 350 homicide cases during his 23-year career, Kenda’s second act on Homicide Hunter made him a household name, before his show wrapped in January following its ninth season. With his wealth of experience, Kenda will be doing a Q&A with fans at IDCON; all you have to do is follow this link to send in your questions.
A Family Affair
As the host of America’s Most Wanted and ID’s In Pursuit, John Walsh has played an instrumental role in bringing countless criminals to justice. But Walsh’s commitment to finding fugitives who have escaped the law goes well beyond his work as a television host. At IDCON, John and his son Callahan Walsh will discuss not only their work on In Pursuit With John Walsh, but their partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an important organization that Walsh himself founded in 1984.
