If you’ve ever dreamt of a team up between HGTV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott -- aka the Property brothers -- and newly-minted Oscar-winner Brad Pitt, boy, are you in luck! The new show Celebrity IOU features stars like Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Viola Davis, and Rebel Wilson teaming up with everyone’s favorite realtor twins to serve up the surprise of a lifetime for those who have helped them. The premiere episode finds Pitt and Co. converting the free-standing garage of his long-term makeup artist Jean Ann Black into a new luxury studio. Vanity Fair called the show “great” and its generous, heartwarming spirit is exactly the kind of thing many of us need right now.
Good Eats: Reloaded
Monday, April 13, 9pm ET
The Peabody-award winning show Good Eats was one of the pioneering shows of culinary television. But with advancements in technology and technique, some of the episodes from its original run are in need of updating. Good Eats: Reloaded is like a freshly prepared plate of a dish that got old and stale. Each episode will feature host Alton Brown offering commentary and updated information on classic episodes like “The Egg File,” “True Brew” and “Raising the Steaks.” Even better, when the show is finished, you can head over to the Cooking Channel website for new recipes on how to make these dishes yourself.
Tuesday, April 14, 8pm ET
The Discovery smash returns with a two hour premiere for what promises to be the biggest season yet. This year, Deadliest Catch veterans Captain Scott Campbell Jr. and Wild Bill Wichrowski return, tempted by conditions that promise a record score. But for the first time, this season will also see the Alaskan King Crab crew taking on their Russian rivals. With old favorites returning and new challenges ahead, season 16 promises to be the most intense, highest stakes season yet.
The Last O.G.
Tuesday, April 14, 10:30pm ET
Tracy Morgan has been an unpredictable wild-card since long before he gave one of the most memorable interviews we’ve seen during quarantine. His TBS show The Last O.G. is both funny and surprisingly poignant, as he and co-star Tiffany Haddish navigate both a newly-gentrified Brooklyn as well as questions of regret, redemption, and recidivism. The third season debuted last week and will feature big-name guest stars like Mike Tyson, JB Smoove, Katt Williams, Sasheer Zamata and more.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Wednesday, April 15, 8pm ET
There have been many spin-offs since the premiere of The Real Housewives… on Bravo, but few have been as impactful as the Beverly Hills franchise. Specifically, Lisa Vanderpump got her own franchise based on the impression she made over nine seasons on RHBV. While Vanderpump stepped away from the show’s new 10th season, the rest of the ladies will be back, along with newcomer Garcelle Beauvais. Expect fan favorites like Camille Grammer, Kim Richards, and Brandi Glanville to make guest appearances.
Wednesday, April 15, 10pm ET
A photographic memory would be both a blessing and a curse. No one knows this better than Detective Pat Postiglione, who clocked over 25 years of experience working the homicide beat in Nashville before his retirement. The season 2 premiere of the true crime hit will reexamine one of the most shocking and tragic murders in the city’s history: the 2009 murder of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair.
NBA HORSE Challenge
Thursday, April 16, 7pm ET
Sports are back! Sure, HORSE is not exactly a traditional showcase of athletic prowess, but still, sports! Following Sunday’s first round, ESPN will air the semifinals and championship round on Thursday night. The semis will see former NBA star Chauncey Billups facing off against Mike Conley of the Utah Jazz, while WNBA star Allie Quigley takes on Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls.
Vice News Tonight: Remote
Monday- Thursday, 11pm ET
One of the strangest things about these very, very strange times is how quickly things are changing. As we learn more about the coronavirus and COVID-19 and its effects (both biologically and culturally), the morning’s information can become outdated by sundown. So if you’re looking for an informative show to help you get your bearings at the end of the day, Vice News Tonight: Remote will be airing new episodes Monday-Thursday. Or, if you’re more of a morning person, catch the latest episodes on demand.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom
Sunday, April 19, 9pm ET
And finally, if you have kids (or not, no judgements here), top off your week with the premiere of Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, which is a fancier title than just Spider-Man season 3. This season - comprised of six one-hour episodes - will feature everyone’s favorite web-slinger facing off against “Venom”ous versions of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and others. Best of all, Disney XD is in free preview on Sling through April 29, so you can catch the action with or without a paid subscription.
