*Trigger Warning: Contains references to alleged child sexual abuse and discrimination*

The documentary starts on a high note. We hear from cast members on some of the biggest shows of the ‘90s and 2000s, like All That!, iCarly, The Amanda Show, and Drake & Josh. The actors share their experiences auditioning and their elation at being added to the cast. Before they’ve even finished grade school, these kids are thinking about the stability acting will provide their families.

The desire to maintain their roles and the career trajectory that was promised along with it resulted in many a blind eye being turned. Cast members Giovannie Samuels, Bryan Herne (All That), and Raquel Lee Bolleau (The Amanda Show) accuse Schneider and Nickelodeon of racial discrimination, both while on set and written into the show. Several female writers and crew members allege they were ordered to massage the producer and were subjected to harassment and pay inequality. From here, it only gets darker, with Nickelodeon star Drake Bell (Drake & Josh) recounting his alleged abuse at the hands of Brian Peck, a dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 of crimes against children.

Will There Be Another Episode of Quiet on Set?

Unfortunately, the stories we hear in episodes one through four are almost commonplace when it comes to child stars of the days before. A fifth episode, dubbed Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence, is now set to premiere Sunday, April 7 on ID. The episode will feature the child stars we heard from before, as well as a few new ones, as they sit down with Soledad O’Brien and discuss the impact of their own experiences and the implications of these stories on future actors. - Amani Chatterton
