Today marks one of America’s newest and favorite unofficial holidays - 4/20. If you’re reading this article, there’s probably no need to explain the holiday to you, but if you're a little green on the subject, follow this link to have your mind blown, man.
What you may not know is that there’s a ton of blazin’ stuff to watch on Sling while you puff-puff-pass the day away. Here’s our list of the 10 best 420 shows and movies available on Sling right now. You can find even more hits in the "Far Out 4/20" ribbon in the On Demand section of the Sling app.
The Big Lebowski
Arguably, one of the best cult classics of all time. You might be saying, “Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.” To which I simply reply…
Set during the first Gulf War, this movie follows the story of Jeffrey Lebowski aka The Dude — a hapless stoner and great bowler — as he gets caught in a high-stakes mix-up with a millionaire with the same name and whose wife is heavily indebted to “known pornographers” (in the parlance of our times). Directed by the Coen Brothers and featuring an eye-popping cast that includes Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, John Turturo, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Juliette Lewis, Flea, Sam Elliott, and more, The Big Lebowski is the rare movie that gets better with each viewing.

The quintessential stoner movie of the ‘90s, Half Baked helped define “pot culture” for many millennials. The story centers on a group of pot-head roommates in New York City — led by Dave Chappelle — out to save their friend who’s been jailed for accidentally killing a diabetic police horse by feeding it all his munchies. In truth, the plot takes its lead from the movie’s title, but its episodic structure keeps the laughs coming throughout. FULLY, MAN!!!

The Night Before
Yeah, I know it’s not Christmas time, but whatever, this movie is fantastic any time of the year. Starring Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Anthony Mackie — with appearances by everyone from James Franco to Miley Cyrus — The Night Before follows the misadventures of a tight-knit group of friends on Christmas Eve in New York City. The story kicks off with Seth Rogen’s very pregnant wife (Jillian Bell) giving him “a box of drugs” for his yearly celebration because he’s been such a good husband. Apparently, she’s a bit unfamiliar with the “products” she gave him and things take a turn for the hilarious.

Maybe this should have been at the top of our list, but The Dude abides. Seriously, there’s so much to watch on Adult Swim that you won’t be able to come close to even sampling all of it in one day. Robot Chicken Star Wars Special, Rick and Morty, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Dragon Ball Z Super (and Dragon Ball Z Kai), Metalocalpyse, Cowboy Bebop, Boondocks, Squidbillies, Space Ghost Coast to Coast…you get the picture. In fact, you could spend the entire holiday here and not watch two episodes of the same show!

Desus & Mero
I have to admit that I just discovered these guys, and they are a real breath of fresh air (or a hit of....you know). It’s basically a late night talk show, but with two hosts instead of one. The chemistry between these two unapologetic New Yorkers is fantastic, and they make you feel like you’re sitting in the living room with them as they roast people. Their charm, wit, and enthusiasm is contagious as they give their hilarious hot takes on news, culture, fashion, music, and more. Plus, they have great celebrity guests!

Based on the life of comedian/rapper Dave Burd aka Lil’ Dicky (aka The Time Traveler’s Wife aka Stem Cells aka Mr. Leftward Sloping aka The Original Pancake aka White Jesus), Dave is about a young man in his twenties who is convinced he’s the next big thing in the rap game. If you like his music, you’ll love his show even more (check out our review here). Plus, it’s first season only premiered last month, so if you’re behind, catching up is easy.

Dumb and Dumber
Just when you thought this list couldn’t get any dumber, I go and do something like this...AND TOTALLY REDEEM MYSELF! Another classic from the ‘90s that we all can quote ad-nauseum, Dumb and Dumber follows two friends (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels) as they make their way on a road trip from Rhode Island to Aspen, “a place where the beer flows like wine.” Along the way, you get to hear the most annoying sound in the world, which is actually quite funny.

It’s a cooking show where all the meals get you high: What’s not to love? Host Abdullah Saeed essentially hosts a party for chefs where they prepare cannabis-infused cuisine. We’re not talking about “special brownies” and the sort - this is a legitimate cooking show that just so happens to infuse cannabis into the recipes. And when the munchies kick in and you’re ready for seconds, don’t miss the spin-off series Bong Appetit: Cook Off.

Time Traveling Bong
The name had my curiosity, but the cast has my attention. Starring Broad City’s Ilana Glazer and Paul Downs, Time Traveling Bong follows two friends who...come on, I don’t need to explain it, everything is right there in the title. Comedy Central describes it as “a kush-fueled adventure through some of the biggest events in history,” so it’s sort of like Drunk History but with a different kind of Bud.

When Mark Wahlberg was a child, he wished for his teddy bear to come alive and his wish was apparently granted by Seth McFarland of Family Guy fame. Ted is not your normal teddy bear, however: He drinks, curses, smokes pot, and even has a gorgeous girlfriend from his job at the supermarket (I’m honestly still not sure how Ted and his girlfriend…you know). Anyways, it’s raunchy, hysterical, and even touching at times and definitely deserves a (re)watch on 4/20.
