Looking for a way to cut down on the cable bill? Savvy Slingers can save hundreds per year while receiving an average of 44* local, over-the-air (OTA) channels for free with the help of an OTA antenna. Today, SLING TV is making it easier to watch local broadcasts on LG Smart TVs, without ever leaving the SLING TV app. This new OTA channel integration brings those free local channels directly into the SLING TV guide, so it’s simple to switch between watching the local news and popular channels from SLING TV.
Slingers with a 2020 LG Smart TV with webOS 5.0, including LG OLED and LG NanoCell 4K and 8K TVs, can connect an OTA antenna directly to their LG TV and complete a simple, one-time scanning process to access live local channels alongside their SLING TV programming.
Once enabled, it’s easy to access local networks, which may include ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS, directly from SLING TV’s guide. To discover which live locals are available in any location across the U.S., customers can use SLING TV’s local channel finder tool. To search, simply type in a street name and zip code, and click “View My Locals” to see a comprehensive list of available channels in any given area.
How to Add Available OTA Channels
To integrate local broadcast networks into the SLING TV experience, owners of compatible LG Smart TVs will need to complete a one-time channel scanning process, accessible from the TV’s “Settings” tab.
From there, select the “All Settings” option, followed by “Channels,” then “Channel Tuning,” and finally “Auto Tuning” to begin the automatic scanning process. Once SLING TV receives the OTA channel signals, customers will see a confirmation message when they reopen the SLING TV app. Slingers with a compatible LG Smart TV can also add local channels to “My Channels” for easy access.
For more information on the integration with LG Smart TVs, visit Sling.com/LG or check out the SLING Help Center for a step-by-step setup guide.
SLING + Locals = The Best Value in TV

For those new SLING TV, it is the most flexible live TV streaming service on the market today, offering the most popular live and on-demand programming at the best price. SLING TV lets customers pick their personal channel lineup, starting with a base service and adding only the “Extras” (genre-based channel bundles), premium channels and à la carte channels they want.
