- Q. What kind of video content can I get on Sling.com?
- A. Sling.com gives users access to an awesome library of TV, movies and online video programming.
- Q. Do I need a Slingbox to use the site?
- A. No! You can watch all the video on the site via our flash video player. However, if you do have a Slingbox you can also access your Live TV. To find out more about purchasing a Slingbox, visit: www.slingmedia.com
- Q. How does the Video Player work?
- A. Just click on any video and it will take you to a video playback page and immediately start playing the video.
- Q. How do I get to my Profile Page?
- A. After you've created an account and are logged in to the site you will see your user name in the top right portion of the navbar. If you click on your user name it will send you to your Profile page.
- Q. Is my Profile information Private or Public?
- A. When you create an account and join the Sling community a public profile page is automatically created for you. You can however, customize what elements you would like to be private by clicking on "Change Privacy Settings".
- Q. What does "Subscribe" mean?
- A. You can Subscribe to a number of things on Sling.com such as Shows, Networks and even other users. All the recent activity for items you've Subscribed to will go directly in to your Subscriptions Feed.
- Q. What's the difference between "Subscribe" and "RSS"
- A. Subscribe will send new items in your Subscriptions Feed on your Profile page while RSS will allow you to receive feeds in to your favorite RSS reader.
- Q. What are Fans and can I "Subscribe" to other Users?
- A. A Fan of a Show is someone who has Subscribed to that show for updates. And yes, you can Subscribe to other users which will in turn make you a "Fan" of that user.
- Q. How do I navigate the site?
- A. There are a number of different ways to get to your favorite shows and videos. The cross site navbar allows you to navigate the site hierarchically eg. Network/Show/Episode or you can always search directly for a video clip. Also, our team of editors are curating and programming the site to hand select content that they think you'll like. Be sure to visit the Category pages as well as our Sling Blog.
- Q. What's the difference between Channels and Categories?
- A. Channels are major television networks or content providers (CBS, NBC, etc.) where as Categories are more like Genres (Comeday, Drama, etc.).
- Q. I think I already have a Slingbox account, do I have to re-register for Sling.com?
- A. No, you don't have to re-register. Your Sling account can and should be used across all Sling products. However, we may ask you for a quick update to your account.
- Q. What is Live TV?
- A. Live TV is where you can access the new web version of our SlingPlayer software. If you have a Slingbox you can connect to your home television and experience the beauty of blending Live TV with premium web content.
- Q. How do I use a Slingbox with Sling.com?
