Whiny Yale Student Demands $1 Million for Stolen Xbox
March 11th 2009 at 3:26pm by WillEdmondson

This week in "Yale students with a false sense of entitlement," Gawker comes across the story of young Jesse Maiman, a Yale junior who really likes his Xbox. How do we know he likes his Xbox? Because after the console and related components went missing from his checked baggage in Cincinnati, Maiman decided it would be prudent to sue US Airways for a cool $1 million.

And really, a measely million dollars is low-balling it, considering the console also served as Maiman's DVD player. He's a film studies major, and serious cineastes can't be expected to use their laptops for their screenings. Plus, as we learn from Mr. Burns, Yale really should have its own international airport. This kind of thing would NEVER happen in New Haven.

Yale's Skull and Bones Sued Over Geronimo's Skull... and Bones
February 19th 2009 at 10:18am by WillEdmondson

Skull and Bones, the famous Yale secret society, has been sued by the descendents of Apache warrior Geronimo over the club's alleged grave robbing. The lawsuit is based on a letter uncovered in Yale's archives in 2006, which claims that "Geronimo the Terrible's" skull and femur bones were safe inside the society's Tomb.

Unsurprisingly, the society's members could not be reached for comment, presumably because they couldn't be bothered to put down their gin and tonics. It's either that or they were too busy catching frisbees in their mouths and shaking hands with Mr. Burns, like the illustrious Bonesman profiled in the attached clip.

The Late Show with David Letterman
Brian Williams is Too Big for the News
January 27th 2009 at 12:35pm by WillEdmondson

Brian Williams stopped by David Letterman's for a play date the other day, and provided much-needed clarity to the "Do we actually have a president?" argument. The short answer? Yes, we have a president. The long answer? Yes, we have a president, FOX News correspondent Chris Wallace, now go back under your bridge.

But look at Williams steal the show! He even gets one of those old man's laugh-cough-anuerysm things from Letterman when he talks about our forefathers' powdered wigs. He's a comedic force, and should be recognized as such.

But don't take my word for it. Just listen to his daughter Allison, a junior at Yale: "Let the record show that Brian Williams is a man with a mind for journalism and comedy." Hear, hear, Ms. Williams, but was getting your dad to diss Harvard twice in the interview your work? Typical.
