If you celebrated St. Patrick's Day properly yesterday, you're still feeling it today -- and last night's special St. Patrick's Day song, performed last night by Jimmy Fallon (above), may be just the thing to keep you from hitting the hair of the dog. It doesn't take a news junkie to notice that there are quite a few members of the Senate and House of Representatives having a tough time of it in the media lately. But in case you somehow HAVE missed it, "The Daily Show" covered the latest offenders last night, in its wrap-up of Crumbums and Fatcats, above. continue readingThe relocation of NBC's "Today" show to Vancouver for the Olympics has posed some interesting opportunities for the morning show's promotional segments. Unfortunately, one of those opportunities is to take advantage of Whistler Blackcomb's beautiful scenery, and as we've learned over the past couple weeks, Vancouver's weather patterns are a fickle mistress.
So with this in mind, poor Jimmy Fallon. Fallon went on "Today" to promote his show's upcoming one-year anniversary episode (on March 1), and the producers planned for Meredith Vieira to interview him in one of the ski resort's tram cars. You know, one of the gondola-things that takes you up the mountain. Keep in mind that it was about 5 AM Vancouver time when they were shooting this segment. And the weather was a foggy, rainy mess, as is Vancouver's custom.
The result? The interview looked like it was taking place in someone's poorly lit basement. Fallon's trademark chipperness kept it from being a total disaster, which is especially impressive, all things considered. Thank God for that "schnapps bar" (mentioned above), eh? (Get it? Eh? Canada? Never mind.)
If you're in a relationship, you can consider this a Public Service Announcement: Sunday is Valentine's Day. But before you run out to buy a panic gift, watch the clip above, in which Jimmy Fallon serenades a special class of lady: the cougar. Then click "continue reading" for the rest of last night's late-night highlights.
