Tiger Woods to Return for The Masters
March 16th 2010 at 11:40am by WillEdmondson

Tiger Woods has just announced that he plans to return to the PGA Tour to compete in the 2010 Masters tournament, which begin April 8. Woods said in a statement, "The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta." This is of course only part of the Tiger news this week; though "The View" notes above that he and his wife Elin have reportedly moved back in with each other, Radar Online then contradicted their scoop yesterday. This is exhausting, but I can help: For all the tiger news you need, click here.

Tiger Woods to Apologize Today
February 19th 2010 at 8:20am by TaraAriano

Obviously, most of the attention of the world's sports fans has been devoted to the winter Olympics, but this morning Tiger Woods will attempt to pull some of that focus to himself: he will be addressing the public in a press conference, and apologizing for his multiple marital infidelities. Friend of the site Linda Holmes has a pretty great pre-cap of what he'll probably say over at NPR's Monkey See blog -- and if you want to see how closely her predictions line up with Woods's statement, watch it after the jump.

"CSI" Episode 10-12: "Long Ball"
January 22nd 2010 at 10:43am by RobbTodd

"CSI" took aim at a cheating pro golfer -- the son of an Asian mother and a domineering father, who are divorced. Sound familiar? No, it's not Tiger Woods, silly! This golfer sucks at golf, not at being a husband. So when someone shanks a ball into the bloody body of the pro golfer's father, it is time for the CSI team to tee off. Read the full recap after the jump.

Elin Nordegren Is Leaving Tiger Woods (Allegedly)
December 17th 2009 at 1:46pm by HannahLawrence

Kate Hudson isn't the only newly-single girl who will also be seeking the comfort of her mother. People is reporting that Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods's wife (whom he wronged with somewhere between 14 and 16 different women) is planning to divorce the pro golfer and father of her two children. Last weekend, Nordegren was photographed at a gas station sans her wedding ring (as seen above on "E! News Now"), and even though a source insists that the absence of her symbolic ring "meant nothing," it's not likely that she sent it to the jeweler to get polished.

Additionally, the New York Post claims that moving crews were seen transporting carefully wrapped artwork into a truck outside the Nordegren-Woods mansion in Florida, and a different People article reports that Nordegren is hightailing it to Sweden, where she recently bought a $2.3 million country house. So, what does a heavily cheating husband, plus the removal of a wedding ring, and the purchase of a multi-million-dollar house in a different country all add up to? (Hint: The answer is not C, "renewing one's vows.")

Have Tiger Woods Questions? China Has Answers!
December 1st 2009 at 5:00pm by WillEdmondson

You may of heard -- you definitely heard -- that, over the weekend, Tiger Woods got himself in a little fender bender that may or may not have been caused by marital problems ("The Early Show" summarizes, above). Tiger's been tight-lipped about the whole thing, so no one really knows the truth...which means that it was actually caused by aliens. (You heard that here first!) But, since when has not knowing any details stopped the Internet from doing a little investigative journalism? Never, that's when.

A crack CGI team in China took to their teenage kid's copy of "The Sims" (I'm assuming) to recreate the crash for Chinese TV, and a hero uploaded the clip to the Internet. The subtitles and audio is all in Chinese, so I have no idea what either of them says, but I imagine it's just a long string of LOLs. Hit "continue reading" to see it.

"Happy Gilmore" Legal Guide: How Not to Get Sued on the Golf Course
November 24th 2009 at 1:56pm by RobbTodd

Yes, the swing Adam Sandler uses in "Happy Gilmore" is perfectly legal on the links. But that does not make it okay to smoke weed, guzzle beer, pound tequila shots, and nail your friends with errant drives using his technique -- at least, not in Canada. More after the jump.

Late Night Last Night: Kathy Griffin Shocks Conan, Charles Barkley Is Bad at Golf, and Jon Stewart Is Depressed
October 27th 2009 at 11:17am by HannahLawrence

Last night on "The Tonight Show," we learned that Kathy Griffin was responsible for Levi Johnston's continuing presence in our lives. She explained that the two of them really are in love with each other, and she hates it when people suggest she's only using the former Vice Presidential candidate's daughter's baby daddy to sell her books. But it's not this tale of love between a 19-year-old manboy and a "27"-year-old "comedian" that sent Conan over the edge. Watch the clip above to see the moment he realizes that Kathy Griffin will do absolutely anything for publicity, and hit "continue reading" for a full recap of last night's late night TV.

SpongeBob SquarePants
Boy, 6, Sinks Hole-In-One with SpongeBob Golf Ball
July 16th 2009 at 2:32pm by RobbTodd

Six-year-old Braeden Furlow, of Michigan, must have been using the "SpongeBob SquarePants" workout video, above. He powered his first ace from 85 yards using a 3-wood; the SpongeBob SquarePants ball bounced twice on the fairway, and found the cup.

"I told him he should stop playing because I don't want him to set the expectations too high on a regular basis," Braeden's father, Travis Furlow, told the News Advocate of Manistee.

If his father intends to enforce that rule, Braeden can spend the extra time flexing in the mirror and lifting his teddy-bear dumbbells, just like SpongeBob.

Jimmy Fallon to Play Tiger Woods on Wii Golf Tomorrow
June 24th 2009 at 4:30pm by CharlotteCowles

There's been much ado about Tiger Woods's upcoming appearance on "Late Night," where he will take on Jimmy Fallon in a round of Wii golf. Jimmy humbly explained via Twitter that playing Tiger on the Wii is "the only way [he has] a chance." Unfortunately, we witnessed Jimmy's Wii skills (or lack thereof) when he played Punch Out with Morgan Webb, and given his performance, I don't see how taking the game indoors will increase Jimmy's odds against Tiger.

Personally, I think Jimmy should have more confidence in his real-life golf game. If I were Tiger and I watched this classic scene from "Fever Pitch" (above), I would be shaking in my golf spikes.

"10 MPH" Is a New Spin on a Classic Story
May 13th 2009 at 4:07pm by RobbTodd

The great American road trip has been romanticized for as long as America has had roads. Men and women riding in wagons/trains/cars, discovering their country and, somewhere along the way, discovering themselves.

Take your pick of the classic literature and movies dedicated to this experience. (I'm partial to the Breckin Meyer classic "Road Trip" in which he plays Josh Parker, a modern-day Dean Moriarty.) (Or maybe "Cannonball Run.")

Now imagine if the trip had been made on a Segway that goes 10 mph.

In this documentary, two guys give up their corporate jobs to trek from Seattle to Boston on the two-wheeled gyroscope contraption, crossing some of the same paths as the Oregon Trail and the Lewis and Clark expedition all while traveling about the same speed as the Pony Express did way back when.

But the best part about watching people on a Segway is the wipeouts, right? Heh. Click "continue reading" for some more fine Segway moments for you to enjoy.
