Gun-Shaped Digital Camera: At Last, Someone Has Invented a Better Way to Get Killed by the Police
November 30th 2009 at 4:04pm by RobbTodd

Every great inventor starts by trying to answer a question. And FINALLY, someone has answered this riddle: how can we make it easier to get shot to death by the cops? There's just got to be an better way! Thus the digital camera shaped like a gun is born.

The digital camera gun seems like something the dude in the video above might have devised. (Is that Tom Cruise? Wow, his career has really taken a tumble. Although, I must admit, he nails the performance. Way better than "Magnolia.") Check out the camera gun after the jump, as well as some other great ideas for inventions that will get you killed.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
The Muppets Perform "Bohemian Rhapsody"
November 24th 2009 at 3:50pm by HannahLawrence

Do you feel lousy? Yeah, me too. I can't stop thinking about cranberries and all the stuff I'm going to put them on. But there's two more whole days before I'll get any cranberry action, and they're all I can think about. What about you? Are you a cranberry person or a stuffing person? Stuffing, I thought so. How are ordinary people, like you and me, supposed to productive when we can't stop thinking about Thanksgiving side dishes?

Well, try this on for size. After the jump is a clip of 70 muppets (including Statler and Waldorf, who heckle Jason Segel and Jimmy Fallon, above) singing and playing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." There are colorful lights, crescendos, explosions, and Miss Piggy wearing a boa. What's better than that? Oh...cranberries and stuffing. Well, I gave it my best shot. I'm playing with a handicap today.

Jennifer Aniston/Tina Fey Catfight Rumored: The Wednesday Antidote
August 26th 2009 at 12:21pm by HannahLawrence

I love catfights, you love catfights, we all love catfights. So today, I bring to you the prospect of a new catfight. Jennifer Aniston was nominated for an Emmy in the "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" category for her role on "30 Rock" (the episode summary is above). Tina Fey was also nominated for her impression of Sarah Palin in several episodes of "Saturday Night Live." Rumor has it that Fey and Aniston used to be very good friends, but that the relationship soured when Jen didn't call Tina to congratulate her on the nomination over the Palin sketch, even though Jen was being honored for appearing on Tina's show. This is probably because Tina is expected to win the award and Jen isn't happy about being upstaged.

This could get awesome. Does anyone want to chip in for "Team Fey" shirts?

Arnold Schwarzenegger Keeps His "Conan" Sword in the Governor's Office
August 25th 2009 at 6:12pm by WillEdmondson

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's got some pretty cool stuff -- like the biodiesel powered Hummer he showed off on "60 Minutes" -- and he's also been known to pull knives on his Twitter followers. So it should come as no surprise that he'd tweet a picture of his (prop?) sword from "Conan the Barbarian," which he happens to keep in the Governor's office, right?

Draw your own conclusions, but here's mine: Arnold Schwarzenegger is America's Governor. Hit "continue reading" below for the picture.

Usain Bolt, Fastest Man Alive, Is Also Awesome and Hilarious
August 21st 2009 at 4:55pm by WillEdmondson

I love Usain Bolt (profiled above), mainly because he's tall, like me, and I'm convinced that if Shaq, Bolt, and I knew each other, we'd all be best friends. I also like him because he's an incredible athletic freak of nature. Bolt just broke his own 200- and 100-meters world records at the world championships in Berlin, and reached top speeds of over 30 miles per hour in the process. That's insanely fast. Think about it.

But there's more to Bolt than just the sports, as you can tell by the trademark (awesome) pose and dance he created to celebrate his victories; he's hilarious, too. For proof, hit "continue reading" to see Bolt striking his pose with the (troublemaking) mascot from the track meet. I just made it my new desktop background.

Three More Nights of Shark Attacks: The Wednesday Antidote
August 5th 2009 at 11:33am by HannahLawrence

Do you know why this Wednesday is different from all the other Wednesdays? (Two points to anyone who picked up that reference to the Chosen People!) It's because today, we're in the middle of Discovery Channel's infamous "Shark Week"! That's right people -- the six precious days filled with awesomely gory footage of nature's finest cold-blooded killer. Literally.

Today's Wednesday Antidote is a reminder that we get three more nights to watch, from the comfort of our dry couches, as unsuspecting seals (even fake ones, as seen above) get thrashed. It's inspirational: Your favorite shark -- take a few minutes to pick one if you haven't got one already -- doesn't sulk around the ocean floor, waiting for his food to come to him. He hunts and stalks it like a champ!

So make like a shark and get ferocious at work today. Sit at your desk like you mean it and make those spreadsheets your prey. In other words, if you claim to "live every week like it's Shark Week," now's your time to make it happen.

Kendra Milks Her Way Into Our Hearts
June 15th 2009 at 10:18am by HannahLawrence

Last night, my new favorite show "Kendra" aired its second episode, in which the bodacious blonde earned her show a fan for life when she took a detour on her way to meet fiance Hank Baskett's parents, and visited a dairy farm.

For a certified city girl like myself, Kendra's exploration of the dairy farm was surprisingly educational. Watching her wander around the tank room (where the cows are hooked up to machines and milked) while referencing the surgically enhanced parts of her body was both a joy and a lesson in double entendres.

But my favorite part of last night's episode was when Kendra met the cow named Kendra (I know! The dairy farmers just happened to have a cow named Kendra! What are the odds?), which (human) Kendra was going to milk. If her approach to this task is any indication of things to come, I can't wait to see Kendra change a diaper.

"How I Met Your Mother": The Uncredited Star of Season 4
June 8th 2009 at 1:43pm by HannahLawrence

Don't let anybody tell you there are only four actors on CBS's "How I Met Your Mother," because there are definitely five. And the best of that fifth performer's work from the past season is after the jump.

Explosions, Battleships, and Exotic Fish: The Ultimate Tourism Boost
May 28th 2009 at 5:17pm by CharlotteCowles

The above video shows an old WWII battleship getting blown up and sinking near the Florida Keys. Yep, it's just as awesome as it sounds. Because the ship is large, heavy, and made of metal, it sank to the ocean floor in about three minutes, where it will rust, grow barnacles, and serve as a humble abode for fish and seaweed. The purpose of this (awesome) exercise is threefold. First off, no one wanted the clunky old battleship anyway, so this is a handy way to get rid of it. Secondly, the sunken ship creates an "artificial reef," which makes a great home for pretty fish and sea life. And finally, the whole thing draws tourists to the Florida Keys, thereby boosting the local economy. Everyone wins!

The Best Cop Show Opening Sequences
May 28th 2009 at 4:31pm by WillEdmondson

There's nothing quite like a good montage, and (aside from the "Rocky" movies) there's no montage quite like a good opening sequence for a cop show. There's no way to top the "T.J. Hooker" opening (above), for example: there's Adrian Zmed rolling over the hood of a car, William Shatner jumping on top of a moving school bus, and April Clough being April Clough. You can't beat that! Cop shows are the best!

That's why we've scoured our archives (and some other places) for the best cop show opening sequences, and collected them all after the jump. Hit "continue reading" below to see the rest, and prepare to have your mind blown.
