This weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live" starred Zach Galifianakis -- and if we could offer a critique, it's that it could have been a lot more Galifianakis-y. Watch the full episode, above, and then let's talk about it after the jump.
continue readingAll right, 2009. Before you go and swap out places with the "Baby New Year" version of 2010 (you know the one in the diaper, the banner, and for some reason, a monocle?), let's take a look at what you have to show for yourself, at least in terms of what was on the TV Box. Here are my ten favorite TV shows/seasons/events and/or moments of the last year. On a stick! Just kidding: there's no Jeff Dunham here. Check out what is, after the jump.

As part of a new attraction at Universal Studios, tourists will get to pose for photographs with Conan O'Brien when he's sitting at his desk. But since he can't be behind it all day long, a wax statue of him was made. People from Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum took his measurements and came up with probably the best wax statue they'll ever have. But before the statue was moved to its new home, it was sent to Conan and Andy to inspect it for likeness. Watch the clip above to see how it held up against Andy's tests, and hit "continue reading" for a full recap of last night's late night TV.
continue readingThe Global Language Monitor (which sounds fake, but isn't) has come out with its annual list of the most popular words and phrases in the English language. In 2008, the most popular word was "change," which was definitely because of President Obama's campaign. But another year has flown by, which means another word has stepped into the coveted spotlight of most popular English word. Oh, you want to know what it is? You mean I didn't tell you already? Well, it's "Twitter," which you'll remember caused Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter to have a major league meltdown when it was hacked (above). But let's back up for a second.
To reiterate, the most popular word in the English language in 2009 was "Twitter." Yeah, that social media thing you try really hard to convince your mom she doesn't need totally dominated this year. This is somewhat obvious already because even the guy in your neighborhood bodega tweets, but now we all have the scientific proof of the phenomenon. Let's get some perspective. "Twitter" beat "Obama," "H1N1," "Stimulus," and "Vampire" in popularity. It also beat "Foreclosure," "Deficit," "Cartel," and "Bonus." What does this all mean? Well again, this just proves we care about waiting for Tracy Morgan to send out a flood of drunk tweets more than our country's leader, a global outbreak, a solution to the problem of nobody having any money, and vampires. Need I say more?
Zach Galifianakis's latest installment of "Between Two Ferns" (seen after the jump, with one instance of NSFW language) is with the power duo of Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter. They briefly discuss Conan's predecessors on "The Tonight Show" and his complexion (protected by a certifiably awesome SPF 125), and it was revealed that Conan doesn't actually own Andy. It was quite the experience for CoCo because he learned what it felt like to be on the other side of interview questions, and what it felt like to answer them badly. It was reminiscent of the time Conan learned that the L.A. River wasn't great for canoeing trips, as seen above. Andy, however, didn't learn anything new, because he already knows everything.

Last night, Jon Stewart talked about Lou Dobbs's decision to leave his job at CNN. Like the rest of us, Jon had some questions, like "why?" and, "Seriously, Lou? You don't want to sleep on it or anything?" But perhaps the best question Stewart posed to Lou was, "How will you better do your job by leaving your job?" My guess the answer to this is that Dobbs just bought a nifty webcam and he's itching to test out its special effects. But maybe that's just my guess because it's what I'd do. Watch the clip above to hear how Stewart feels about Lou's departure, and click "continue reading" for a full recap of last night's late night TV.

Tennis superstar Andre Agassi has a new memoir out called "Open," in which he reveals that he suffered from an addiction to crystal meth, and that puffy '80s mullet he sported during the 1990 French Open was actually a hairpiece (seen above, in all its lioness glory). In fact, Andre lost that final match to Andrés Gómez because he kept worrying that it would fall off his head. So last night, David Letterman gave Andre a brief opportunity to say goodbye to the wig that caused him so much grief. Watch the clip above to see these two friends reunite, and hit "continue reading" for a full recap of last night's late night TV.

Today is the 40th anniversary of "Sesame Street," and last night, Elmo and Rosita stopped by to talk at (yes, "at") Jimmy Fallon and Laurence Fishburne. Rosita was heavy on the sass and Elmo was oddly un-childlike. This was alarming and strange, because he's been 3 1/2 since 1972 (or 1985. His true D.O.B. is debatable). Watch the clip above to see some moments that are guaranteed to make it on Sesame Street's yearly blooper reel, and hit "continue reading" for a full recap of last night's late night TV.
continue readingIt seems impossible, yet it's true: in just a few short hours, Conan O'Brien's "Tonight Show" will air its 100th episode. (Yes, it's unusual for the 100th episode of a five-night-a-week strip show to air on a Monday and not a Friday, but if you'll recall...Conan missed one episode a few weeks ago.) In honor of this momentous occasion, we've collected our 20 favorite "Tonight Show" moments -- one for each week the show has aired. Up top: Conan takes the Universal Studios Tour Tram, and gives the tourists on board more than they bargained for. The other 19 clips are after the jump.

Last night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," Olivia Munn set the record straight about her series, "Attack of the Show," which highlights topics of interest to guys between the ages of 18 and 34. In the process, Artie Lange aged himself 100 years. Find out how in the clip above, and to get a full recap of last night's late night TV (which includes a sample of Olivia's techno hit that will air only in Europe), hit "continue reading."
