Here's a tip for your next blind date: Do NOT meet at an airport bar when you are not flying anywhere. Here's one more tip: Do NOT give her a full-body MRI and tell her she has a great oven. That's classic Bad Idea Jeans.
Blind dates are such easy targets for television and movies. In fact, there was even a show devoted to them. It was called "Blind Date." Clever, right?
Modern love is pretty tough, so click "continue reading" for some expert advice to help guide you through it.
continue readingNow that we've all had time to digest the news that former "Family Ties" star Meredith Baxter is a lesbian. In fact, Baxter's announcement got so much attention that it overshadowed other press appearances by some of her TV-mom peers. Check those out after the jump.
* In this case, what we are calling "news" should be understood as "made-up stories."
continue readingOh my God, you guys, what is UP with Brenda's BOOB?! Find out in the latest installment of The Great Rewatch of "Beverly Hills, 90210," after the jump.
continue readingWho better to try her luck as a standup comic than someone who has absolutely NO SENSE OF HUMOR? Prepare for the awkwardness as Brenda takes to the stage in the latest installment of The Great Rewatch of "Beverly Hills, 90210," after the jump.
continue readingIf you thought producer Amy Sherman-Palladino had already said everything she could on the subject of mother-daughter relationships, think again: the "Gilmore Girls" creator has signed a deal to launch a new series on HBO, revolving around three adult sisters -- all writers -- and their mother, "a domineering literary lioness who reserves most of her affections for their ne'er-do-well brother." As a fan of the Gilmores, I'm hoping this new series will help to erase the bad memory of Sherman-Palladino's last effort, the quickly cancelled sitcom "The Return of Jezebel James" (that's Part 1 of the pilot, above). And as much as she certainly must have landed the new gig based on the strength of her vision and talent, maybe her pedigree has something to do with it, too. Her "Gilmore Girls" (2000-2007) was a mainstay of The WB in what has turned out to be an incredibly fertile period for young producing talent: the showrunners in the network's class of '01 are still making great TV series today. Check them out after the jump.
continue readingIn fact, the wedding episode of "The Office" airs tonight. We've already prepared you well with all the episode's teasers, so why not put the blessed event in the context of nuptial history? After the jump, we've collected some of our best wedding videos.

This episode is about a character starring on a TV teen drama, and it's super-meta. Yes, the show thought it had earned the right to do this after fifteen episodes. That's how big it was in '91.
continue reading"The Hills" and "The City" both begin next week, and in a last-minute change, they've been bumped from their usual Monday spot to Tuesdays at 10 and 10:30 PM, respectively. Why the shift? Well, no one really seems to know, including me. It breaks up my tradition of Mortifying Mondays (when I watch the aforementioned shows after "Gossip Girl"), but I suppose that with "90210" at 8 PM and "Melrose Place" at 9 PM, Trashy Tuesdays are something I could get used to.
Since we have to wait a whole extra day to see Kristin Cavallari trounce Audrina, Whitney Port look nervous (see video, above), and Kelly Cutrone start regulatin', we've got some preview clips for you, after the jump.
continue readingWhen one door closes, another one opens; such is the case with "More To Love" and "The Biggest Loser," which were like two plus-sized ships passing in the night. But oh what a night it was! After much haggling, Luke proposed to his lucky lady, and she obviously said yes (see the full episode, above). Tears were already shed in the first episode of "The Biggest Loser," and for once, they weren't Jillian-related (see clip after the jump).
continue readingMario and Jenny, the steamy duo from "America's Got Talent," heated things up last night by shooting sparks across the stage and beating on flaming drums. They really roasted the competition with their red-hot routine. Their performance really sizzled. They really brought the heat...aaand I'm spent.
On to the rest of last night's TV: speaking of heat, "Hell's Kitchen" got pretty ridiculous when Chef Ramsay challenged the contestants to make crepes. Less warm in temperature (but still very dramatic) was the second-season premiere of "90210" and the series premiere of "Melrose Place." Meanwhile, Shaq competed against Oscar de la Hoya in "Shaq Vs.," Jeff Lewis worked more magic on "Flipping Out," and Luke ditched another lady "More To Love." For the full roundup, hit "continue reading."
