"Tori and Dean" Drive Audiences to Oxygen

"Tori and Dean" has really grown on me. It's proof that celebrities make better reality stars than "real" people. Why? I suppose its because celebrities usually get their reality gigs on the way down, so they're way more grateful than Joe and Sally Bagadonuts drunk on their first taste of fame. True, seeing your next-door-neighbor types publicly gorge themselves on every last perk of the C-list can be funny, but it gets old. And depressing. Sometimes you crave a little professionalism.

That's what you get from Tori and Dean. Yes, they let you into their "real" lives a little bit, but you always feel like you're in the hands of two hardworking entertainers. It's cheesy, but a refreshing change for a genre that has gotten increasingly freakish. And it's working: Broadcasting & Cable reports that the "Tori and Dean" season finale just scored over a million viewers, a record for Oxygen.
