Michael Jackson dressed up his beloved chimp Bubbles like his mini-me, booked hotel suites for the two of them, and even brought him to the Grammys as his date (as we learned from "The Simpsons," above). So you'd assume that Bubbles would be taking his owner's death pretty hard. But then you remember that Bubbles is an animal...and he's probably more interested in his next meal.
Jackson told Martin Bashir in 2003 that he placed Bubbles in an animal sanctuary after the chimp became overly aggressive. Since then, Bubbles has resided in the Center for Great Apes in Florida. Sanctuary Director Patti Ragan says that the now 26-year-old Bubbles is "a very sweet and nice chimp" who's lost his "baby face." According to Ragan, "[She's] seen [Bubbles] go to the drinking fountain, start to take a sip of water and then, when he hears one of the younger [chimps] coming, he'll step back and let them have a sip." So...Bubbles likes kids too. (Too soon?)
"Anderson Cooper 360" scored an exclusive interview visited Bubbles's cage last night, which you can see, below:
