Evidently, in These Economic Times (tm), one of the surefire ways we regular people can make ourselves feel better about our lives is to watch fictional people who are worse off than we are. At least, that's my theory as to why AMC's "Breaking Bad" -- the story of a terminal-cancer patient who decides to build up his family's nest egg by cooking and selling crystal meth -- just won a Peabody Award, and (probably not coincidentally) got renewed for a third season less than halfway through its second. If you're a latecomer to the series, we have minisodes for the first season (a condensed version of the series pilot is above), and the first two episodes of the current season are at the show's official website. Believe the hype; the show is incredible.
