Romance Tips: The DL on the DTR

I'm a bit slow on the uptake with relationship stuff. For example, I didn't even know what "DTR" meant until my roommate told me a month ago. (For those in the same boat, it stands for "Define The Relationship," and can also be used in verb form, as in "The boytoy and I DTR'd last night.") Woah.
For those who are similarly daunted by this stuff, Howcast has put together a video about navigating this particular stretch of love territory. Their most resonant piece of advice? "Pick a good time and place to have the talk, a day when you're both relaxed and ... most importantly, sober." Hmm. I guess I have a lot of learning to do.

the preferred nomenclature is "State of the Union." I'm not down with this DTR stuff.
